Body Harmony Yoga Therapy
"I have been attending Yoga classes for around six months and can't imagine life without them. I have quite a stressful job, and until I started the classes, I hadn't realised how much I had let the stress and pressure of my daily work affect me both physically and emotionally. Thanks to these classes, I have begun to use the techniques we apply in the class on a daily basis – resulting in less stress at work and a better appreciation of life in general. I am calmer and more relaxed, and more at ease with myself." "I've been doing Body Harmony classes for over 12 years now and try never to miss one. I usually start the class feeling really tired and always leave it feeling energised! Deanne and Simon both have great voices - they lull you into relaxing, which we all need!" |
Body Harmony Yoga Therapy and The Yoga of Stillness offer space to actively re-turn to oneself, settlement and simplicity.
Yoga Therapy and The Yoga of Stillness is also how some of our clients rejuvenate before returning to their active, engaged and purpose-filled lives, for others it can be a form of healing as it can deepen their purpose in life or restore vitality when life has become mundane and lack lustre. There may also be times in your life you look beyond the physical body and human outplay of life, when you ask "is there more?" or "is this it?", some may call it "soul searching", an existential crisis or simply feeling "stuck". While we don't propose to have the answers, we do know that within each of us lies the wisdom and a way forwards in whatever situation we find before us. We also understand, just as nothing in our natural world co-exists alone, at times, we too need some support outside of our ourselves, or more frankly, some support to get out of our heads and the circulating thoughts that are not helping us to move forwards and dampening our mood and outlook. The Yoga we offer is firstly about connection to our bodies by supporting the mind to align to the stillness within the body, a simple but powerful counter when there is excess mental energy or motion (busy-ness) in our day to day lives. Yoga Therapy encompasses the healing arts of Raja Yoga, it can include physical movement, posture and alignment, meditation, nutrition and dietary review, nourishing practices such as self care, self nurturing, sleep and wind down routines as well as hand, face and full body massage, body awareness, relaxation practices, Sitting Yoga, yoga philosophy, yoga psychology and The Yoga of Stillness. |
