"After (the session) yesterday I was doing some specific physio shoulder exercises. Compared to how I have felt previously doing these exercises, it felt more spacious in and around my actual shoulder joints. Thus allowing a much easier movement of the exercise, a better understanding of the movement, and I feel more aligned and a better strengthening result from the exercise. Hours later I still have that sense of spaciousness and better alignment through and around the shoulders with an all over feeling of 'ease'."
We take a gentle, non-aggressive approach to our Rehabilitation & Movement sessions to assist recovery from injury, surgery, and chronic pain.
These sessions are tailored to help you return to movement and exercise without aggravating the problem area or depleting you after chronic illness. We work in conjunction with your medical professionals, rehabilitation program and allied health professionals such as your physiotherapist, podiatrist or occupational therapist.
Sometimes after injury or chronic pain, we brace and harden parts of our body to protect them, but this can restrict or inhibit movement and even cause imbalances and tension elsewhere as our body tries to compensate. By taking a gentle and sensitive approach, we foster a connection to the body by tuning in and listening. Tuning in and being present with ourselves and our movements has a settling effect, this reassures the body’s tissues and facilitates their relaxation helping the body to slide, glide and move with more ease.
These sessions draw upon our understanding of the musculoskeletal and connective tissue systems and recommend our Rehabilitation & Movement sessions be combined with Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and when appropriate Esoteric Massage or Remedial Massage.
